July 28, 2005Where can I get the hinges for this mod?
July 28, 200580s-90s buick lasabre in the junk yard. should run you $30 or so
July 29, 2005How much fabricating would it take to make it work? Thanks
February 12, 2006close to the same as suicide doors I would expect, cept you only haveta do it once.
May 9, 2006If you know how to weld and have 2 hours you'll be done. Its really easy. Just bolt to your inner fender well up front and then tack weld on the mounts to the hood.
Of go get some hinges from the junkyard off of a older BMW and bolt to the radiator support up front and then weld the other half of the hinge to the hoods underside.
Not hard if you take your time and measure
May 9, 2006AutoLoc is supposedly selling a universal forward tilt hood kit now also...
May 10, 2006the reverse hood is simple. get yourself some old buick suicide hinges and there is a bar between the 2 hinges. you cut the bar in the middle and bolt up the hinges and most likely the bar will over lap itself so cut off the extra and weld it back together (you could even cut the bar right off). you then bolt the hinges under the fender lips and depending on your truck you will need spacers to make the hinges lower so that the hood doesnt hit the bar (if its not cut out) and so the hood sits flush with the fenders. put your hood on the hinges as if it was bolted to them and mark the holes, again it will depend on your truck where you need to drill the holes.next deal with the stock hinges. for my truck i have to cut the stock hinges and give them a one inch gap so that they tuck under the vent so the hood will sit flush with the fenders. drill your holes and clean out the shavings. to bolt the hood to the hinges you could put the bolts in the hood so they stick out of the hood which will make it easier to bolt them up or you could put the nuts in the hole. that should be pretty much all you need to know about makin your hood flip reverse, hope it helps.

there's a how to
May 12, 2006why would you weld you hood to the hinges? thats ridiculous. what if you dont want the hood flipping reverse anymore? you would have to buy a new hood. or if u wanted a new hood and still wanted a reverse hood then you would need to get new hinges. and not everyone has access to a welder. its soo much easier to mark the holes, drill them, clean em, and bolt it all up.
