August 19, 2004You can do that but it will ride like $#!t.
August 27, 2004wen you buy new shoter springs they are stiffer than the orignal longer ones. so if you cut you stock springs they wont be stiff enough and youll bounce all over the road. and im pretty sure it isnt good for your whole suspension set up. thats just my understanding hope it helps.
August 27, 2004yeah i say do it right! i-beams or drop springs or both! just dont cut, u wont be happy with the ride.
August 27, 2004Hey everyone knows that a sawzall is a mini owners best friend, however when it comes to suspension it has a long ways to go.
August 27, 2004never cut ur springs. i did once, and i had a sh1tty *** ride for awhile until i could get some new coils. if you had an extra set, you could try it just to see how it is, but you'd be waisting your time.
August 27, 2004When I was young, I cut my springs, but after I rode it around for a couple of days, I went out and found some from a junkyard cause as everyone else has already said, it rode terribly.
By the way, its good to see some Chevys (lo98noma) in Texas. We usually don't see a lot in the TX Chap. Just a lot, and I mean a lot, of Rangers. CDB
August 27, 2004thanx alot for the feed back i guess i will just save up some money and get some i-beams and a flip kit i just cant wait to see it low instead of being so high
August 27, 2004your ride will go to hell and your tirezs will to
September 2, 2004buy the i beams, my friend was going to do that and i talked him out of it smoother ride with the dream beams.
February 24, 2005you can cut springs but u usualy want to have stiffer springs say for a heavier truck like I have dodge dakota springs on my S-10 that I cut and the work great. i just happened to have them layin aroundthe house from my old truck. and they were beltech drop coils to begin with.
