December 18, 2003http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ricer
December 20, 2003A term that every person has a different view on and that nobody can agree on. The basics of the term stay the same, a vehicle that is all show and no go. Body kits, stickers, neon, spoilers, etc. People often wrongfully use the term when someone does have a body kit and exterior mods but does also have the power to back it up. You need to look under the hood to acurately call someone a ricer. Some say that any car with an excessive wing would be a ricer. Well then what about a 1970 Plymouth Superbird from the factory, the wing on that was about 3 feet tall, is the owner of that muscle car a "ricer" because of the wing? The answer is no. It is possible to have a body kit, wheels and have a non-ricer car, it must be done with good taste and not overdone with useless stickers.
December 20, 2003nice...
I just don't like the go fast stickers and worthless loud @ss coffee can mufflers...Oh, and the dumb@sses here that draw the cops attention at the local hangouts....Us minitruckers will just chill....Hell some of the guys bring their families....Meantime, there's a ton of Ricers reving their sh_t up, burning tires, throwing beer bottles, etc....They like other groups give their hobby a bad name and image....Plus Fast and the Furious sucked @ss.....
December 20, 2003Big wing, 4 cylinders, more stickers than paint, front wheel drive...
December 20, 2003This ass hole at work tried to tell me that ricers are imports so i was like oh so a bmw and a porche are ricers??? Then he changed it to japanese cars are ricers, so i was like oh you mean a nissan 350z is a ricer???
December 20, 2003SAY NO TO RICE, thats all thats arround her are civics and sh** i got like one of 2 minis in this po dunk town LONG LIVE MINITRUCKIN
May 3, 2004Had a 4 door AWD, 90 subaru legacy that'd go 148 before you couldn't keep it on the ground (I hate tasteless wings, plus without a wing it doesn't draw attention). Made a hobby of blowing civics off the road, and am I the only one who thinks the wings that people put on the little imports make them look like the fischer price lawn mowers with the little pop up balls? and as far as the 1" exhaust that goes to a 5" muffler I agree that it sound like crap. We had 2" dual exhaust that went to a thrush glass pack just before the rears.
May 4, 2004Everyone seems to think that "Ricers" are just japanese cars, don't forget your American(Uncle Bens) ricers like all the damn Focuses, Escorts, Cavaliers, Sunfires, Neons, etc. I'm not a big "sport compact" fan, however in our club we do have several cars but our by-laws limit the "rice" as we do not allow ANY stickers on paint, must have 3 body modifications, suspension altercation and custom wheels. That knocks about 99% of the crap right out of the ball park!!
July 12, 2004um what gives. to me a ricer is someone who has no go with all looks .
like having a 1inch exhaust with a 5 inch muffler. cutting the stock springs to make the car lower, euro tails, a big book shelf wing, bolted on there body kit, performance stickers on the windows with out having the product,. like having white rims on a red car, or gold rims on a red car. all the apc stuff that pepboys have. type R stickers on a honda. it's geting out of hang I guess it comes down to how the car was done. as long as it's tasteful and looks good then I would say it's not rice. 300,350,supra,celicas, etc are no way in my opinion rice.
but to each his own,and every one is going to have there own opinion.
April 14, 2005i had a 90 crx si. would i be considered a ricer because i had a mugen style(stock japanese honda) body kit? i had intake, exhaust, not a tip, chip, fuel rail, ignition system. it was a badass car, i just couldnt afford a mini and a crx. 40miles to the gallon and bein able to hall ass was fun
April 14, 2005actually, if you're calling all show and no go, rice.....then technically, wouldn't that also be the same as most, not all, but most of the trucks here too??? i mean come on....you drop, ya shave, ya glass the interior, ya paint, basically make it a really nice show truck. and prolly half of you do not any engine mods whatsoever. so essentially, is that not the same? not trying to argue here, but to me, its the same.
frankly, i love my rice car. i don't mind it being called rice either. i am a crackajap after all anyway! lol!!! i have a dodge avenger lowered with coilovers, full body kit and filberglass cuda hood, chrome 18s, small spoiler, completely shaved, with a decent system, and some small engine mods. old pics are here:
but hey, to each their own. it may be a car, but its minitruck inspired! hehehehe! hopefully have it draggin and on air by heatwave this july! then my next project will be a dakota! yeah, i'm a dodge girl!
oh, and that's just my 2 cents btw!!!
April 14, 2005My biggest problem with the sport compacts is the damn fart can mufflers. I have seen some really nice compacts but it just ruins it for me when I hear that noise. Also I am not a big fan of FWD cars. Don't like to work on them and hate the way they feel to drive. Thats my 2 cents.
